Caspase-1 inhibitor. The YVAD-CHO portion of this peptide is a highly-specific, potent (Ki=1 nM) and reversible inhibitor of caspase-1 (interleukin-1β converting enzyme, ICE), whose sequence is based on the pre-interleukin-1β Asp-116 cleavage site for caspase-1.
