Tecan Protein Fragment BoxA from HMGB1, human & mouse, LPS-free
BoxA from HMGB1, human & mouse, LPS-free. 100 ug. BoxA is one of the highly conserved DNA binding domains of HMGB1 protein (HMG boxes). It is an antagonist for HMGB1 binding to its receptor RAGE, and inhibits HMGB1 cytokine effects in vivo. The BoxA we provide has no difference from the sequence of the human or mouse HMGB1, and as a self-antigen elicits very low immunological responses. BoxA protects against sepsis in a mouse peritonitis model, and from hepatitis in a mouse model of HBV infection. Dendritic cells promote their own maturation and T cell proliferation, survival and Th1 differentiation by secreting HMGB1, and BoxA inhibits these activities. BoxA also inhibits the chemotactic activity of HMGB1 on endothelial cells and fibroblasts, and the mitogenic activity of HMGB1 for stem cells. Distributed by IBL. Research Use Only.

Hybridomas were generated from splenocytes by standard techniques and tested by ELISA against the immunogen and full-length HMGB1. DPH1.1 mAb recognizes all mammalian HMGB1s, including human, mouse and rat. It does not recognize HMGB2. DPH1.1 mAb can be used for Western blot (WB), immunofluorescence (IHF) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). DPH1.1 mAb blocks HMGB1-elicited cell migration in trans-well migration assays.
