Description

Exclusive darkfield design provides even, glare-free illumination. Contrasted against darkfield background, colonies are bright—readily distinguished from other structures in agar. Each probing action into the colony completes a circuit and is automatically recorded (Electronic Register model only).

• Highly polished, annular reflector spreads light from 40-watt bulb uniformly over entire culture plate
• Operating switch conveniently mounted on front of instrument case
• Hinged door provides easy access to change light bulb—just remove two screws
• Container holder adapts for centering round dishes up to 100mm diameter or square culture plates up to 100 × 100mm
• Adjustable focusing rod allows 1.5X lens to be raised or lowered for magnified viewing
• Lens rotates 360° for ready access to culture plates
• Reset bar provides immediate zeroing of five-digit counter
• Built-in tilt leg may be mounted in front or rear; allows convenient tilt angle or may be locked flat to instrument base

Electronic register model

• Operated by needle-point probe with magnetic ground
• When ground and counting probes both touch conductive agar in dish or plate, an electrical circuit is completed through the integral amplifier to activate the digital counter
