Pre-miR™ miRNA Precursors are designed to mimic endogenous miRNAs. Pre-miR miRNA Precursor Negative Control #1 is designed to use as a negative control for experiments using Pre-miR miRNA Precursors. Transfect Pre-miR miRNA Precursor Negative Control #1 using the same methodology as for your experimental Pre-miR miRNA Precursors, then use the target gene expression from the sample transfected with the Pre-miR miRNA Precursor Negative Control #1 as a baseline for evaluation of the effect of the experimental Pre-miR miRNA Precursor on target gene expression. About Pre-miR miRNA Precursors
Pre-miR™ miRNA Precursor Molecules are small, chemically modified, double-stranded RNA molecules designed to mimic endogenous mature miRNAs. This ready-to-use miRNA mimic can be introduced into cells using transfection or electroporation parameters similar to those used for siRNAs. They enable detailed study of miRNA biological effects via gain-of-function experiments.

Using Pre-miR miRNA Precursor Negative Control #1
Pre-miR™ Negative Control #1 is a random sequence Pre-miR™ molecule that has been extensively tested in human cell lines and tissues and validated to produce no identifiable effects on known miRNA function. RNA oligonucleotides are susceptible to degradation by exogenous ribonucleases introduced during handling. Wear gloves when handling this product. Use RNase-free reagents, tubes, and barrier pipette tips. Upon receipt, store in a non-frost-free freezer at or below -20°C (dried oligonucleotides are shipped at ambient temperature).

NOTE: Pre-miR™ miRNA Precursors are not hairpin constructs and should not be confused with pre-miRNAs.
