Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ Protein Transfection Reagent
Form complexes with proteins, peptides, antibodies and other biologically active molecules for direct intracellular delivery using this cationic lipid mixture.
Supplier: Thermo Scientific™ 89850
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce Protein Transfection Reagent is a cationic lipid mixture for complexation with proteins, peptides, antibodies and other biologically active molecules to allow their direct intracellular delivery.
This is a unique cationic lipid mixture (previously called Pro-Ject Reagent) which, when complexed with proteins or peptides, allows direct intracellular delivery of proteins, peptides, antibodies and other biologically active molecules. Reagent protein complexes attach to negatively charged cell surfaces and either can directly fuse with the membrane and deliver the captured protein into the cell or be endocytosed by the cell and then fuse with the endosome, releasing the captured protein into the cytoplasm. Since the complex formed is noncovalent it does not interfere with the protein's biological activity.Highlights:
- No need to isolate, clone and transfect gene sequences
- Optimum delivery in three to four hours after incubation
- Delivery complex is non-covalent, so proteins and peptides retain biological activity after delivery Works with proteins, peptides and fluorescently labeled antibodies
Includes:
Transfection reagent, dried film; β-galactosidase control, 0.1μg/μL, 100μL; FITC-antibody control, 0.1μg/μL, 100μL
