1,5-Cyclooctadienebis(methyldiphenylphosphine)iridium(I) hexafluorophosphate is used as a catalyst for isomerization of allylic ethers of glycerol and glucose to the corresponding 1-propenyl ethers. It is also used as a catalyst in hydrogenation reactions.
